We collect the minimum needed to teach you trading. We never sell data. The plain-language version is here. The legal language is at the bottom.
What we collect
Just enough to make the product work and to track your learning progress.
- Account data: name, email, hashed password.
- Learning data: which concepts you started, your simulator decisions, your accuracy.
- Trade analysis data: any history you upload or pull from a connected broker. Read-only.
- Operational logs: device, browser, errors. Retained 30 days.
What we never collect
Your real-money brokerage credentials. Trading API keys with write/withdraw permissions. Real banking, payment card numbers (handled by our PCI-compliant processor).
Trade analysis · how it works
When you upload a CSV, the file is parsed in your browser. We store the parsed metrics (win rate, average size, mistake counts) — not the raw row-level trades — unless you explicitly opt in to keep history for longitudinal analysis.
When you connect a broker, our integration uses read-only OAuth scopes. We pull trade history once, run analysis, and discard the raw stream within 24 hours by default.
How we use it
To recommend the right next lesson, to show you your progress, to detect bugs, and to improve the product. That is the entire list.
- No advertising profiles. No ad networks. No data brokers.
- Aggregated, anonymized stats may be used for product research.
Your rights
You can export every byte we hold on you, correct it, or delete it. The dashboard handles export and deletion in one click. Deletion is irreversible after 30 days.
Children
Tape is not intended for users under 16. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If we make material changes we email you 30 days before they take effect. Minor wording changes get a banner on this page.
