Selling runs the other way

Watch the shares, then the money.

Last lesson you bought. Now you sell the same 10 shares at **₹1,600**. Watch which side moves first.

What happens when you sell

  • Trade day (T) shares blocked — As soon as you sell, those shares are **blocked** in your demat account. You can't sell them twice.
  • T+1 money in — Settlement: your shares go to the buyer, and the money reaches your **trading account**, minus charges.
  • Afterwards your choice — Leave the money to invest again, or withdraw it to your linked **bank account**.

**Remember:** when you sell, the shares leave first and the money follows on T+1.
